I am THE Turnaround Specialist. Employee development and person–building are the aspects that most excited me while working in managerial sales; thus, coaching was a natural evolution for me, and I help passionate, success seekers who strive for greater professional and/or personal satisfaction to make a turnaround. I'm most proud of having trained and developed hundreds of staff across all tiers of employment, including upper-level management. I have been where you want to be, having managed multi-million dollar budgets in multiple positions across Florida, Georgia, and Illinois.I graduated with a B.A. in Urban Studies from Morehouse College and earned a Master of Public Administration degree from Strayer University.
Candidly,
The board room, the meeting, the meetings before and after the meeting, the family board room, and everywhere deals, negotiations and relationships happen, I have successfully navigated all of these and more.
My Truth
I know how business works. I know how and why it doesn't work. I loved pursuing sales and winning while working for others. At some point, the universe brought me back to my beginning....to my roots of working for myself.
My Dad was one of six brothers, and 5 out of 6 were entrepreneurs, including my beloved Dad. I grew up on numbers, negotiating, breaking barriers, excellence, and integrity.
I'm incredibly proud to say that Entrepreneurship and Business are in my blood!
Ask yourself what are my pain points, problems, limitations, and stuck points?
How long am I going to feel held back or stuck?
Why do I keep struggling with claiming what is mine?
Why do I feel like others have an easier life than I do?
When will it be my turn?
What happened to the dream and desires I had for myself?
Where is my hope?
Be Honest!
Let me say for the record, I’ve wondered about the same questions numerous times. Sales was my life for years but over time I knew I needed to make the leap in a new direction. Once I decided to be honest about those things in my own life I had to then DECIDE that I had an opportunity to move from stuck to freedom. I had to decide whether I was going to continue working on someone else’s goals or pursue my own.
Let me help you free yourself and better direct your energy and efforts. I’m living proof that repositioning and growth is possible.
Learn More about Coach Dr. Sherri
It is important that children believe that they are special. I was frequently told that I was smart by my parents and my teachers. Being acknowledged for my intelligence felt good and I felt important. Throughout my early years, I excelled tremendously and continued to receive the blessings from my natural intelligence and hard work. My educational confidence and success were challenged while I was in college. This was followed by a series of academic delays which exacerbated a series of psychological insecurities. Over time with re-commitment to academic excellence and re-affirming my belief in myself, I began to dig out of the dark hole that I created. I was back on track professionally but I’d unintentionally placed my love life on the back burner. It seemed as if I’d become a successful physician at the expense of obtaining my personal goals of marriage and a family. Thus, I know the pain associated with a loss of an identity and having to redefine the narrative that I dreamed about since childhood. I DID THE PERSONAL WORK to find joy and freedom in my TRUTH. I KEEP DOING THE WORK TO STAY WELL.
My Background:
I am a native Georgian, raised with my sister, Dr. Bonnie Simpson Mason, by our parents, who divorced when we were children in East Point. I am the former Sherri Simpson, graduating from Howard University and Meharry Medical College before matriculating at the Menninger Department of Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas; other schools I have attended are Tennesee State University and Morehouse School of Medicine. Dr. Broadwater is fellowship-trained in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and is currently board-certified in Child /Adolescent Psychiatry. Additional trainings - Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Perinatal Mental Health, Infant Massage, and Life and Business Coaching.
My Experience:
I have worked in a variety of clinical settings in different states. I’ve been the disgruntled employee, manager, entrepreneur, and contractor, negotiated well, and in the past have negotiated poorly (in love and professionally. I also actively manage the stress of achievement while caregiving, supporting family members emotionally and financially, and navigating the complicated process of becoming a mother and parenting.
More about me - I’ve done children’s mission work in Kenya, East Africa, and have researched malaria-induced anemia in pregnant women in Mali, West Africa. I’ve always wanted to care for the children….. i.e., the children in all of us. My most challenging role was being the medical director of a community service board. I’ve worked for close to 20 companies as a contractor and salaried employee, serving as the executive wellness coach for Nth Dimensions; thus, I have been where most of you have been. I get it. My most fulfilling roles are being a wife, cat mother, soon-to-be mother of an adopted child, entrepreneur, creative, and dreamer. Additional executive leadership and organizational skill-set come from chairing the National Medical Association’s Women’s Health Section, the Mary Susan Moore Medical Association, and the Kappa Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.’s Target 2 Health Outreach.
As an expert speaker, I have delivered over 100 workshops and training sessions, both locally and internationally. I specialize in families in crisis, women’s and children’s mental health, mental health and religion, trauma, incorporating practical knowledge, anecdotes, and clinical experiences.
I’m also the author of multiple guided journals, activity books and therapeutic notebooks.
